With Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later you can make Web pages easier to read by magnifying the page (zooming in). If you zoom in, everything on the Web page will be magnified (including text, images, and controls). Zooming will change the magnification of the Web site, regardless of the Web site’s formatting.
I just installed IE7 and since this, I can no longer change the font-size in existing chm files. Usually, I can do this with pressing {ctrl} + {mouse wheel}. This is really a pain, because the fonts render so small, that my whole docs became totally unreadable.
Is there any fix/solution? Here are some ways increase the font size on a Windows Help file (CHM file)
1. Using Firefox plug in that read chm file in Firefox
CHM Reader is a Firefox extension that make Compiled HTML Files can be viewed with Firefox directly. After install, with “File | Open CHM File”, you can open an CHM file in Firefox. With “View | Sidebar | CHM Reader” or press “Ctrl-E”, the sidebar which contains topics and indexes listing of the CHM file will be showed. Then you can use the page zoom functionality in your Firefox.

2. Using ChmEncoder to decompile CHM files and view them in web browser
CHM Encoder can be used to decompile CHM files (Compiled Windows HTML Help) or e-book and extract all source files. This is a free tool that is easy to use and works quickly. This program allows you to convert CHM to HTML so that they may be viewed in your PocketPC or as a web page on your web site. CHM Encoder also has command line support and a batch mode which will allow you to convert multiple documents at the same time.
3. Using ChmZoomer (Strong Recommend)
ChmZoomer gives you handy full page zoom functionality in all other browser-based applications, such as Chm files, e-Books, RSS Reader and so on. You can open Chm file with the official chm reader in windows and get the page zoom functionality that likes in IE7/8. The shortcut keys are the same as IE and Firefox. Press [CTRL +] or [CTRL Mouse wheel up] to zoom in. Press [CTRL -] or [CTRL Mouse wheel down] to zoom out. Reset zoom to 100% with Ctrl-0.
